If we had those fish in here I wouldn't go to work! I seen a couple pairs on the shore recently do they go into spawn soon? Last week I caught 1 with a small bump on his head.

This is the same guy from Anglers Inn. He also guides a trip to the Amazon. It is a 6 and a half day trip and is is not a cheap trip. You can check it out on the Anglersinn.com website. Someday I will have to try it. The video showing the trip is a good one . Another trip of a lifetime ! Start saving now , Stan.

When the state brought peacock bass to Hawaii in 1956-57, that is the species they thought they were importing. Can you imagine tackle busters like that in the lake?

I doubt the lake, at least in its current state, could support such a monster fish like that! It would be fun as heck to catch one of those!

The state can never do anything right to bad I think if they had the bigger ones there would be a lot more tourist coming to hawaii to fish! Even if they were 10-15 lbs would be something those tucs would have a lot of food to eat they could eat anything in the lake. Turtles, redevils, tilapia, catfish pungee, even the small tucs we got I would trade it all for some 10+ tucs

I guess that you don't remember the public meeting where we ask the DLNR to bring in the Florida Bass? This picture was shown......
"See, if you bring the Florida Bass to Hawaii, they will eat all our endangered birds".

What about importing small ones maybe from a petstore or something ill raise em there's just about everything else in there I'm sure the state wouldn't do anything if they never no about it lol! They probly wouldn't know the difference.

I wonder what kind of "tropical" fish a pet store can bring in?

I think it would be awesome to have those giant tucs here, on the other hand, I think that would end our chances of restoring the largemouth bass population. At least now there is a chance.

A friend of mine has two (2) 650 gallon fish tanks and has a couple of these Amazon species of the peacock bass. Actually he has several varieties of the peacock bass. Getting them in is not a problem. Footing the bill to get enough Amazon peacocks or Florida strain LMB is the problem!
