Boatless Bank Trash Report 12-22-11

Postby Joel » Thu Dec 22, 2011 10:51 pm

I decided to head up to the lake around 2pm today. Had a few bites but nothing too productive until about 3:30pm. The 2 that i caught were very tight to cover, almost to the bank in the shade. I didn't get any measurements but did snap a picture of the biggest one. I caught both on a finesse jig that I make, with a small pig trailer. All I can say is slow..slow..slow. I only caught these bass by an ultra slow presentation and literally casting at the water's edge bringing the bait down through the cover working every log, stick etc... The water was clear by my standards, and color choice was key. I chose a color that has always done well at Grand Lake in OK after a lot of rain. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. Image

That first fish looks like a classic example of what is mostly caught these days. The smaller guys seem to be pretty healthy.
Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after. ~ Henry David Thoreau
