Happy Thanksgiving

Postby Stan Wright » Thu Nov 24, 2011 7:16 am

Gobble! Gobble!
The average American eats about 13 pounds (5.9 kilograms) of turkey annually, generous helpings no doubt gobbled on Thanksgiving.
:D

I've probably eaten 10 pounds of turkey since September  Turkey was on sale for $0.99/lb before Canadian Thanksgiving (Columbus Day for you guys)...and I bought 3 turkeys about 12lb each. Since then, my sister and I had eaten more turkey than chicken, pork, beef or fish. I hope turkey goes on sale again around Christmas...and stock up another 3-4 turkeys in the fridge until Easter.

Butterflied turkey breast with basil, paprika and garlic salt...broiled turkey wings with BBQ rub...roasted turkey thighs and drumsticks until the skin is golden brown and crisp...turkey shell broth with onions, carrots, celery, mixed beans, lentils, basil and bay leaf...MMM....

I am genetically predisposed to make fish look bigger than they really are.
