Never Give Up !

Postby Pegasus » Wed Nov 16, 2011 5:52 am

Had a chance to experience that tough fishing everybody has been talking about. Talked with another boater who was having a tough time too. I saw a few nice tucs come out after my bait..... only to swim off without trying it. I picked up one small largemouth. That was it. I killed almost all of my bait and was ready to give up. As I approached the ramp, a guy was pulling out so I decided to fish around the corner from the ramp by the sometimes island back in the corner. I hooked up my last bait and worked the shoreline. The wind had blown all the debris into the corner near the bank and I was casting along the edge of rubbish. My phone rang and I was talking with my friend, telling him how slow it was. Just then, I overcast and threw my bait on top of the floating rubbish and it EXPLODED ! A few minutes later, I had a nice 4 1/2 pound tuc in the boat. The moral of the story.... Never Give Up ! And sometimes, a bad cast is a great cast !

And now you know... The Rest of the Story.

Or should it be Ripley's, Believe it or Not?

I had some of that tough fishing today as well. There was some faint busting near the main basin and I cast out the classic bubble rigs numerous times just to be ignoted. I finally caught one little LMB on a shallow running Sebile. Tough all day,.....

I know what you mean. I had some tucs come out for a look, only to swim away. That time of year !
