Blue Boat Point

Postby Stan Wright » Mon Jul 18, 2011 6:41 am

Passed by Blue Boat Pt around 5:00 PM and saw a boat so I eased over to see how he was doing...

As we pulled up he was releasing a nice peacock bass (looked like a pound or two). I ask how the fishing was and he said on and off since he got there at 4:00. Just then he got another fish on... this one was an easy 2 pounder.

Turns out it was Bill. This is a picture from a few months ago. ( I'm going to have to start a new picture file with every ones boat and a few pictures of them )

He was telling us the story of Doug and his Triple Crown bass trip last week... (when he got another fish on... also about 2 pounds) There at BBP was where Doug got his peacock and largemouth.

Bill no sooner released that fish.... baited up and had another peacock on before he could set the rod down. He said the action seems to pick up around 5:00.

We headed on back to the ramp, and watched Bill hook into another fish as we were leaving.

Later at the ramp, I ask him how many he caught. Oh, 30 or 40... but they were all small, no "keepers" **.
(I think he only considers it a "Keeper" if it's 3 pounds or better)

Yes, Virginia, Blue Boat Point seems to be busting loose again.
:D :D :D

** All Peacock, smallmouth and Largemouth must be released

Thanks for the report Stan. I'm gonna have to get some bait and take the wife there. She says she only likes to fish when they're biting!
