Hoomaluhia and Manoa Smallie Hunt

Postby Cheesefish » Wed Apr 06, 2011 12:03 am

Over the weekend we ventured over to the windward side to find some smallies. We started at the dam of the lake and worked our way down towards the elementary school. The fish were caught in shallow water with SPINNERBAITS... yes spinner baits.

Today after taking a stressful physiology 302 exam, we headed to the lower part of Manoa Stream and were whacking them on grubs and plastic worms... We caught around 15 overall and there were a few that were close to 2lbs. Overall a great day!!!

Ya they are everywhere in there but mostly down by the UH area or the dorms.

Those are a bit too large for my Tenkara rod.. were there any "smaller" ones?

I dont know if parking at UH is a good idea because they will ticket anything that doesn't have a permit... Maybe try down on Dole St... then walk to the stream...

Let me know how it goes!
