At the boat ramp, LC told us that yesterday. the peacock bass were schooling. Since it was nice and cloudy at 7:00 AM and rain was in the forecast... they should be schooling this morning too.

Well, they sure were... from Paperbark all the way to BSA Island.
This is Chris with his first ever peacock bass. Was that your 2nd or 3rd cast?

They were busting the surface everywhere you looked.

Most of the time if you got your fly or lure into the action you'd get a strike or a follow. Is this concentration, or what?

Most of the fish were a pound or so. Chris and Chris with an average size schooler this morning.

But there were a few larger ones around. Would you believe 10 pounds?

Then around 10:00 AM the sun got higher and the clouds thinned and the action really S_L_O_W_E_D down. This was not the kind weather that Guy Haggi had predicted. We started working the shoreline and caught fish here and there.
