humminbird fishfinder repairs

Having problems with my fishfinder does anyone locally work on them, or do I need.to send it to the manufacturer?
Its a Humminbird 797, and its not powering up. I am powered directly off the battery, and I have power at the unit plug in, and at the back of the plug in going into the unit. So I think its the unit. Anyone have any suggestions?

Did you try juggling the wires in back of fish finder to get good contact? Did you try smacking it with your slipper! :lol:
