LGF Visits Lake Wilson

Postby Stan Wright » Fri Mar 18, 2011 7:21 pm

Ben Wong, host of the Let's Go Fishing TV Show was
on the lake this Friday filming the spawning peacock
bass action with Dougie and Chris.
Ben said he'll let me know the date it will air,
so we can get the word out.

It started out a little on the wet side, but as you
can see the sun is trying to shine through.
Image

Ben is putting on the camera's "rain coat"... a cheep plastic bag.
Hay, what ever works best...
Image

There is an underwater camera on the end of that yellow pole.
Hope the video came out as good as we think it did...
should have some neat under water shots....
(after all, it has a "fish eye" lens on it)

There's your fish Dougie, see how it's wrapped your line around that log... sucker must weigh 10 pounds.
Image

Chris hooked this LMB while pitching at a spawning tuke.
Image

Dougie lost some nice fish, but he landed a few nice ones too.
Image

Some fish tossed the lure and got away after a few
jumps... (but Ben got it all on video) Others, like this
nice 4 pounder made it all the way into the dip net.
Now for some CPR (Catch, Photograph & Release)

As the afternoon wore on, a lot more boats joined in
on the action.

Everyone was enjoying a little fishing today.

You guys were doiing a lot of hooting and hollering, I love it! Must have been the spawning tucs. Fishing was good today. The tuc bite has really picked up. I didn't mess around with the spawners...but a lot of the 1lb tucs were cruising and eating. Seemed like when the clouds would cover the sun I would get bit.

There were about 8 trailers in the parking lot when Cheesefish and I launched. I only saw a few of the on the lake. The rest must have been way up the north fork or on the south fork. We caught about 10 in just a few hours. A <1 lb. Tuc, a 2 lb. 1oz. Tuc, the rest were 1 lb. LMB. Later in the afternoon, we tried BBP and Morgan's with live bait but nothing was there for us.

I hope the underwater shots come out nicely. There is a show on vs or oln called hooks and looks or looks and hooks, they have a lot of underwater footager. I really enjoy seeing the fish I'm trying to catch in their natural habitats.

I had an idea about a month ago, so you know about the aquaview cameras? Well I wanted to make a remote controled aquaview. That would be really cool. They already have rc submarines, so I could copy the mechanics of that and put it in a life like fish "hull"...the eyes could be the camera lenses.
