Red Devil on the Fly

Postby Stan Wright » Thu Feb 15, 2007 8:27 pm

Clay and I decided to take up our fly rods and see if the Red Devils were biting.
We saw a lot, but they were really spooky, and challenging to catch. There were enough aggressive ones to make it interesting.

We also saw a lot of peacock bass, but they totally ignored everything we cast at them. We were hoping that the peacock bass would start schooling and feeding later in the day. Saw several other boats that caught a few of the schooling fish. But it never happened for us.

It was a pleasant afternoon.

Very nice Stan! 2 months and 20 days to go  Those fish are so photogenic

I have many exams from now until May...they'll keep me busy for now while I wait patiently

I'm going to check out those fly rods today and see if I like them or not...they're not Sage or Loomis or Hardy...but they are still a big step from the outfit I have at the moment (ie...my reel is a Pflueger click-pawl reel   And the rod...well let's just say I casted a few Sages at a fishing show and was I missing out big time  ) Can't afford Sage yet...but I think these combos are decent as well. :D

It's too cold to fish anyway, so keep after your schooling. You have plenty of time in the future for fishing. LOL

Take hope, if I can graduate, anyone can. (but then I was lucky enough to study photography..... my hobby)

Aloha,
Stan
