I got out late morning and started fishing the grass beds and structure just before the first bridge. Didn't have much luck until I made it BSA Is. Fished all around BSA Is., Miki Miki Point, and the cove across from BSA Is. where I met up with Pegasus. I stuck with the watermelon brush hog. I went thru 3 of them today! Then in the evening there was a few sporatic bust along the west side of BSA Is. Switched over to the bubble rig until a peacock attacked my bubble. I tired out my clear plastic torpedo which worked great! Ended up with 8 LMB and 2 peacocks. Most about 1 to 1.5 lb. Not a bad way to spend a Sun. afternoon.

damn i was nearly out the door this morning headed that way!! but my "responsibilities" aka honeydo list were re-iterated by little hitler! damn i been dry over a month now! them baby brush hogs are great pegasus can vouch, i had a day awhile ago not to bad a few dinks. then figured why not try up south fork, kinda muddy but decided to give it some close in flippin/pitching. found a textbook spot and caught 6 bass over three lbs in 20 min. lost 2 that snapped 14lb test i hadon my flipping stick. all on junebug baby brush hogs!by the time i came back and ran into pegasus on his yak i was shaking! hahahaha junebug and that watermellon red flake are awesome!guess my "secret" flipping bait is out!
Yeah, I remember that day. And I know exactly where that spot is ! Luke and I went out at noon till 3:30 today and threw tilapia again. We picked up a total of six tucs. Four were over 3lbs. Went to most of our spots, except one. A boat from the tournament was camped out on it the whole day while we were there. We watched Roadwarrior snag a few LM off a point with his brush hogs. What a beautiful day to be on the lake !

One of these days RW, your going to hang into a fish (over 2 pounds) that is going to straighten out that cheep nickle swivel of yours...
If you insist on using a swivel ( LOL ) at least get a good one.
The ball-bearing ones are the best. (not pictured)
Some of the little tiny ones have a breaking strength of 25 pounds.

With the swivel, you do probably get better action than if the line was tied directly to the lure. That's why some lures have that little split ring.
Another idea is to have 8 or 10 rods rigged with a different lure.
