I fished Thur. Fri. and Sat..... The water level dropped almost a foot a day. Watch out for those "New Islands" and stumps that are appearing all over the lake. Not good for outboard motors.
Some of the guys were catching peacock bass that were schooling and chasing shad by Boy Scout Island and on the North Fork by the pineapple fields. Looks like they were using small diving lures and spoons. The fish only stayed on the surface a few seconds. If you could get a cast in the area you had a chance for a fish. You might have to wait 30 minutes for the fish to surface again and they only stayed up for a few seconds. Saw one guy catch a peacock bass at Morgans point on live bait.
The afternoons have been better for me the last few days. Peacock and largemouth bass chasing small baitfish againse the shore. The bass we caught were nice and fat. Two tagged bass. Both the tagged fish had bad sores where the tag was.
Fishing was great, the weather was super, only the "catching" part was a little slow. LOL
