North Fork Fishing 9-18-10

Postby roadwarriorsvt » Sat Sep 18, 2010 7:56 pm

Today I had one of the funnest day of fishing in a loooong time. Since the beginning of the north fork runs thru my neighbors (private) property I took a couple of poles, tackle box, and about 3 dozen minnows to my secret spot. Since the water is low, most fish are kinda stuck in whatever pool they are in. I guess they are getting hungry too. Every minnow I cast out didn't stay on my hook for over 20 seconds! Not saying I landed a lot, but the fish were really aggressive! Walked back towards the rapids to. After a couple dozen minnows, I started using a white roadrunner, then a little rubber fly thingie. I caught LMB, catfish, 5 star generals, bluegills, just to name a few. Saw some small fry SMB, needle fish, red devils, carp, and a pongee! Beautiful day of small stream fishing. I must have caught over 2 dozen fish, none being over a pound, except two catfish. VERY fun day. No 5 lb. Tucs for me, but I had just as much fun and thats what its all about! 8)
