dont know bout sunday but man saturday was awesome. took my son and father out and caught dozens of bass in the 10 in range. my son was having more fun driving the boat and feeding the ducks hahah but stopped to fight the occasional bass i handed him. i think had as many throw the baits as we landed, they are getting to be really good at jumpin hahaha.caught em on crankbaits, senkos, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits. just a few on everything we threw. one canoe out and we were the only boat, and the park was empty all day as well....... kinda weird. anyhow i was throwing my spinnerbait down a bluff when a monster peacock came outa the deep, in slow mo like they do just before they turn away. my father and i both yelled at the same time as we saw it! id guess maybe 5lbs plus easy( will get bigger at each retelling im sure) my spinnerbait was literally a second from comming out of the water when that sucker lunged and grabbed iti thought thats it line for sure gone.......pole maybe.... it was as if you tied a cinder block to the line and chucked it off the side. i struggled to realease drag but too much tension. pole and line held for several seconds then amazingly the spinerbait snapped! damn coulda been the fish of the year!!but i did put my new carrrot stix pole to the test and it came thrue! managed to get several more bass on the return trip to the dock and one 3lb tuc off a point with a popper that helped the burn of losing the earlier fish.no sign of any work on the damn and as a matter of fact the gates are still below the water. slats were cover and launching wasnt bad at all.
sat was THE day
