The Spawn Is On

Postby Stan Wright » Tue Apr 27, 2010 6:06 pm

Chris and friends hit the "mother load" of spawning
peacock bass today.

They figure the falling lake level and the warm
water temperature
(81 degrees) were what made it all come together.

If the spawning fish didn't hit after 5 or 6 casts....
just move to the next nest.
Caught 5 or 6 nice peacock bass.
(When is that kid going to start taking some pictures?)
Lost some rather "large" ones too.

They stayed in the same area for 7 hours.....
Saw a lot more fish than they caught....

I was the first boat out and the first one back in. Fished from 6:30 till 9:30. Saw lots of fish but no takers. Must have gotten better as the day warmed up. Was a beautiful morning to be out on the lake.

With the water at 81* the peacocks must be loving that! I better mow the grass at night so I can go fishing this weekend!
