Water temperature was 71 degrees.... partly cloudy. We didn't see any schooling fish so it was working the shore line around where the little fish were hiding in the shallow water. Every once-in-a-while something would splash and slash the schools of baitfish driving them up onto the dry land.
We cast a lot of different styles and colors of lures and no takers.
Thought we had some fish actively feeding in a cove, but it turned out to be this guy tangled in some fishing line.
At around 10:30 the peacock bass started schooling in the Main Basin.
A few casts later I got this guy.... almost 3 pounds. Water temperature 74.9 degrees.
This is the lure that Brian was catching all those fish on a few weeks ago.
I cast it out (water was 26 feet deep) and let it hit the bottom. Then a very slow retrieve with a twitch of the rod every so often. Don't worry, I didn't buy all of them.... he still has lots more.
