slow days

Postby BASSTRACKER » Sun Dec 27, 2009 8:24 am

went out last week and it was pretty tuff, falling water cool temps and bluebird skies. waters still pretty clear though maybe2-3ft visibility in the main basin and 1-2ft in the forks.cant tie the boat to the concrete stairs again, awwwwwwww it was nice while it lasted.didnt catch much till after 10, im gonna stop freezin my butt off one of these days, they just dont seem to get active till the suns been upawhile.caught one little 8in bass on a crankbait along the bank near mikimiki flats, small guy but i took it as a positive thing as he was very healthy. then it went dead till 2pm when i gave up on anything near the banks, motored out to the middle and searched for shad schools on the depth finder. once i found em i threw a little jighead with a3 in clear grub with silver flakes in it. counted it down and varied the retrieve, and covered water. wasnt the most thrilling fishing, but it saved the day with 2 tucs each topiing 2lbs and a couple more hits in about a 2 hour time frame. of course that was a week ago, hope you all had a great christmas and got some good gear! if not the sales outa be good by monday for tackle! have seen tacklewarehouse advertising daiwa zillion reels for 199$!!!

Got myself some early Christmas gifts this year:
G-Loomis BCR802GLX for $255 (MSRP $375) from OHYAsales.com and a Daiwa Fuego 1000A spinning reel for $235 (MSRP $279) from tacklewarehouse.com Also got a Shimano Core 51MG7 from ebay for like $90 off retail price!
Big time buyer's remorse when I got the credit card bill!

Skunked,
I'll invite you to go fishing with me if you promise NOT to bring all your gear with you...... it would sink the boat.
