Hawaii Salmon Bake
Every year at this time the Shelter and Anchor Point Lodges located on Shelter Island near Juneau, Alaska, put on the "Hawaii Salmon Bake"... The Dole Cannery Ballroom hosts a kind of big family reunion of all the people who fished at the lodge. Or, anyone thinking about an Alaska fishing adventure. Awards were presented to top anglers from the 2009 season. The video presentation was fantastic.
There were lucky number door prizes.
How would you like to win this Gyotaku by Naoki?
Check this out... look what I caught.
One of these days I'll catch one this big.
We got to meet Naoki, creator of these beautiful fish prints.
The big prize of the evening.... A free fishing trip to Anchor point Lodge,
And a free fishing trip to Shelter Lodge.

A little piece of Hawaii in the wilds of Alaska. (rice and shoyu at every meal)
They clean & package all your fish, even provide the fishing tackle, rain gear and boots.
I like the electric reels for catching the "butterfish". (Black Cod)
But the best part has to be the food... ( My favorite was the fresh Dungeness Crabs )
A fishing trip for the whole family.
Start planning for Nov. 2010 and the next Hawaii Salmon Bake.
(Also to be held next year in California, and in Austin, TX)
Better still, go fishing at Shelter Island so you can be the one telling the "fish stories" next year.
Check out some the picture from this seasons catches......
