At The Boat Ramp Wed. July 1

At The Boat Ramp, Wed. July 1

I love a zoom lense.... I was testing my
wife's Lumix, Panasonic camera when I saw
these guys..... looks like they were having fun.

The water is at the bottom of the boat ramp,
but there were two trailers in the parking lot....
so it looks like it's deep enough to launch a boat.

Looks like I'll "chance um" this holiday weekend and try launch the boat.

I went by at 3:00 PM on Thursday and the lake was down about a foot from when I was there on Tuesday. The 1 foot wide slabs at the bottom of the ramp were under water on Tuesday.... and you can see there are 5 showing on Thurs. You can also see the tire tracks where people have been launching their boats.....

Someone came in and cleaned up the broken glass, trash, fish hooks, and discarded fishing line (Thank You) Might have even shoveled out a little of the mud. (again, Thank You)

Word is, the water is low enough now to work on the spillway valves.... DLNR is doing their best to get things fixed ASAP before any rain brings the water levels back up.

Several bass boats used the ramp this week, so looks like we are good to go. Might have to back the trailer in and push the boat off.... just use a longer rope... But as of now the boat ramp is useable.

Have fun fishing this holiday weekend... Action has been good all week..... peacock bass are spawning. Even been a little schooling action mentioned.

I launched my heavy glass boat today. The water level was about the same as pictured above. No problems. Not really muddier on the trailer either! Getting the boat out was same as always. Just put the trailer in to the same level and drove right up on the trailer. No drama. If you're debating on weather to go or not,...GO!!! 8)
