Boat Ramp, Tuesday

I visited the lake Tuesday (June 23) to check out the ramp....
to see if the water was deep enough to put
the boat in tomorrow.

It appears to be. One boat trailer in the parking
lot..... so one boat was launched.

Water is down by 5 or 6 feet from last Friday.
The rain in the mountains might be keeping the level up.

I waded out about 10 feet or so trying to find the
end of the ramp. The water was knee deep...
lots of mud, but I couldn't locate the end of the ramp.
I guess we're good to go.

Got a call on Friday that the chances of using the boat ramp are "Slim & None".


The DLNR is lowering the lake level so they can fix the gates on the spilway... (where they regulate the lake levels). Don't know when the work will be finished and the water level is high enough again where we can launch our boats.

Some said by the end of the month... others said 2 or 3 months.
I've called every one I can think of, and writen letters to my legislators.
We'll see.

I thought they already lowered the lake to work on the flood gates. Ya mean its going lower? Dayummmmmm,.....

lets try to be positive and think in regards to its summer and maybe they will finnish before rains start and make it take longer, i see it as a positive sign that someone is spending money to "fix" anything on the lake! lets hope its a sign that leads in a positive direction for the lake and maybe it will lead to more money being spent to improve fishing.

I wonder what kind of interesting fish you'll find with this low water. Maybe someone can hook a tiger shovelnose catfish and confirm with us curious souls.

I really hope for your sake that they put in that aerator. I don't know whether this will have a localized effect or not, but it will improve the water conditions for sure.

Will this be a wind driven aerator?

Dropped by Sunday at 4:30.
Looks like the weekend rain was enough to raise the
water level to reach the base of the walkway.
I could launch my boat and tie up to the right side
where the water is deeper next to the steep bank
but retrieving the boat would be a little muddy.
I'll wait for more water (don't like to get muddy)
