Catching and not releasing
New to this forum. was fishing today by morgans and towards the dam came across two individuals looked like vietnamese or chinese. man and women had about twenty spawning tucs in a dive bag dragging behind boat and about another 10 draging on a stringer. keep an eye out for couple in a 10 foot aluminum game fisher with just a electric motor. whent to talk to them about releasing but they played the i no speak english deal. was wondering if i called dlnr if they would actually come down for a freshwater issue if i should even call it in?

get the hull i.d. when you report to dlnr,if they havent got anything goin on they may respond, usually pretty quick.they favor hanging out in haleiwa harbor a mere 15 min away but again depends on their work load, but as much info as can be provided always helps and hull id will identify the people or at least owners.

yeah it looked like a aluminum jon boat with just a trolling motor on the front they were by morgans and in tuc bay when i came across them i fished that area the day before and they just startedd spawning and after the day they took all the spawners theres a lot of empty nests. i should have just flipped there little boat. they probly wouldnt do that again. but i got the dlnr number in my cell for the next time.
I've been fishing at lake wilson for only 6 weeks now.
I 've seen them once in May and on June 8 and 15.
They hang out in the coves north of the dam but
when they see you, they stop fishing and watch till you
dissappear around the corner. I haven't seen them catch
any fish and keep, so it's hard to report any violation.
Also, please don't confuse them with me.
I have a 11' gamefisher jon boat with an outboard motor.
They have a 9 or 10 ' gamefisher jon boat with 2 trolling motors
in the rear. I don't want anybody giving me the "stink eye".

posting pics of illegal activity
Roadwarriorsvt, I do not think it is a question of privacy but it could be considered slander. They may be able to take some kind of action against this website. I believe you guys but you know how the law goes.

Taken from Dictionary.com:
slan⋅der
/ˈslændər/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [slan-der] Show IPA
–noun
1. defamation; calumny: rumors full of slander.
2. a malicious, false, and defamatory statement or report: a slander against his good name.
3. Law. defamation by oral utterance rather than by writing, pictures, etc.
I don't think slander would apply in this case.

If I got a picture of a boat trailing a stringer full of peacock bass.... I'd post it in the fishing report and say something like... "Wow, look at all the fish these guys caught. What, is it legal to keep fish now? I thought the lake was Catch and Release!"
"Why let the truth stand in the way of a good fish story?"
