John and I used small gold flys to catch bluegill and red devils Friday afternoon. We had several peacock bass on, but with 3 1/2 # test tippets, we kept breaking them off. Exciting while it lasted.
Chris called me around 10:30 AM and ask if I could bring them some more live bait.... He wouldn't tell me where they were fishing but they had already used the 50 goldfish they had. Mostly peacock bass and a dozen big red devils.
Doug talked Chris into taking him out for a few hours. Here is a picture of him hooked into what they guessed was a 5 or 6 pounder. "Sportsmans Release".... sorry, no fish picture.
Doug did land a nice 4 pounder after we left.
Friday was Good

I get the goldfish, (medium size feeder fish... Mollies) from Moanalua Pets at Stadium Mall.. (by the Ice Palace) Cost is $10 for 50.... $18 for 100.

Call first to make sure they have them. Their shipment comes in on Sunday afternoon.... this week they were sold out by Friday afternoon.
I think Chris got the Bass Tracker in late November. It's from Seattle.

That's a nice dark devil
Hey Stan, I tried to look around for 128/oz jigheads for you. No go...I've only found really tiny ones with a very small hook and short shank.
Marmooska jigs

The hook shank is too short to tie anything to it. The next up at 1/64oz.
Alternatively, have you considered tying a pin with a small round silver pinhead to the hook? I'd say you would probably get the same weight tying the pin onto the hook.
Hey, 3 weeks today, at this time, I would have landed in Oahu Should we lock in some fishing dates or should we play by ear and see when the wind is more moderate? I am so very game to try my hands at the o'io again...this time with the 10-wt as well...and some of my own flies
We also have to visit Ji and get him out because he can't get his canoe out with the bummed back We gotta get him out fishing again...even if it's just trolling at his pond
And I'll be ready for those little cichlids at the stream
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy...sooooooo much fishing to be done...I'm sooooo excited and happy
