WED REPORT

Postby BASSTRACKER » Wed Mar 18, 2009 7:18 pm

been a week since i was out and the water level has dropped like 4 feet since last friday.had great luck last friday and figured to stick with the same game plan but weather and droppin water nixed that.fished all morning pounding the shore. chased a few busts out near kemoo island, wasted and hour doin that, always out of range and never lasting more than a sec or two.finally round 2 pm got on a good pattern and managed 3 bass, 2 1 pounders and a nice nearly 3 pounder. black and blue 1/2 ounce jig with pork chunk in showing trees. trees had to be in6-8 ft of water, close to the bank or further out got nothing, diffrent color nothing, one of those days they were pretty picky.did have the best 30 min fishing of the year i think, stumbled onto a spot i have fished many times before fruitlessly. first cast and BAM 2 lb bass, throws the jig. second cast, BAM reel screaaaammmming and then snap. no lure! bbiiiiiiiiiiig fish snapped 14lb test like nothing, and i had checked for frays.did i mention it was my only other jig, i had already lost the black and blue one in a tree earlier, this one was white.if anyone catchs a monster bass with a nice white pig and jig lip ornament lemme know! i wanna know what that sucker weighs! ended up catching 4 more largemouth on a brushhog texas rigged all within a 20ft area.one of those phenomena dont happen very often here! and leaves you shaking on the casting deck. all were healthy and chunky and the biggest weighed an even 3lbs.whoooo says you cant catch bass in muddy water eh!!

Hit the lake for an afternoon trip. Ran into the Basstracker on his way to his secret spot for those largemouths. I was working the shoreline from my kayak using talapia. Finally the tucs were getting it going. Had my best luck in a long time . Got a total of 5 tucs. Lost one nice one at the boat ??? Had a couple of other strong strikes ,but no hookup. Had a couple in the 2lb plus range and one baby that was 8-9 inches long. Cute fish. I was throwing it up close to the bank and they were exploding on it. Had some awesome strikes ! Best day in a while ! A short, but sweeet trip !

Fun fishing on Friday with the flyrods for red devils... also caught bluegill, oscar, catfish, and small peacock bass.

Sunday was a total bust... nada. Saw peacock bass... some even looked like they were looking for a place to start spawning...
But no interest in lures.
