Anyone have any opinions on the Daiwa Exceler 100SH. It has a 7:1 ratio. They go for $69.00 on E-Bay. I grew up fishing on cane poles and what ever rod & reel was in the barn, so I'm kinda simple when it comes to fishing equipment. All opinions welcome, positive or negative.

I say go for it! I've been thinking about getting one myself. I like the red spool which is not available in the lower speed version. I have a TD-Pro, which is the same reel except for a couple of extra bearings and I like it a lot. The Exceler seems like a much better value, and did I mention I like the red spool?
I find that if I upgrade the spool bearings to ceramics, or at least flush and relube them with Quantum Hot Sauce oil, it makes a huge difference in performance. Even a low priced reel can cast like an expensive one.
Ebay seller "dolilfishie" is a good one. Got my last reel from them. Sucks for me that they don't carry the lefty versison, but here is the righty.

Funny you should ask. Just bought one of these brand new about six months ago. ive used it several timnes since, and have been pleasently surprised. casts great, even with a light crankbait, and the drag is really smooth, even on a five pund peacock.....good buy!!!!
Thanks,
Adam
