2 Fish on Monday

Postby Carolina Bassin » Mon Dec 29, 2008 3:38 pm

I took my mom fishing one last time today before she goes back to SC tomorrow. I caught 2 fish in the grass with a White 1/4oz spinnerbait W/Silver willow blade, around Tuke Rock. 1 fish was a 1.5 lb largemouth (see picture). I missed a couple of huge fish that were lingering in the thick grass, close too the bank. It looks like the muddy water has push alot of fish up on the banks; cleaner water I guess. Happy New Year!

Is it my eyes or compared to all the LM bass that was caught prior to the rains, that one looks super healthy.

My thoughts exactly. Nice to see a bass that looks like a bass should. Would be super awesome to see one like the ones in Texas or Cali with the small head and fat body indicating that it is eating well and growing too fast for the head to keep up with the body! They call those "footballs" or "chunks".
