Cool Water, Cold Action

Postby Stan Wright » Tue Dec 09, 2008 1:07 pm

Water temperature was 75 degrees.

I spoke with several people who caught a few fish, but mostly everyone considered the fishing to be "on the slow side".

The peacock and largemouth bass were schooling and boiling from Boy Scout Island to the Masonic Temple area. (All I could get them to do was follow my lures)

One guy was catching a few on a silver CastMaster with a white feather on the hook. Another guy said that early on they were hitting a Sammy.
I tried everything in the tackle box..... only follows.

I fished for about 90 minutes at BS Island (hehe!). Managed to catch 2 small ones (1.5 lbs.) on a white Norman crankbait and a Maria brand minnow style lure. There was a HUGE (legit 6 pounder) following the first one I hooked, but he wasn't interested in my lures. If only I had bait! Oh well, that's fishing.
