I've never really heard of a "fisherman's moon" but I have fished some night tournaments in California at Lake Casitas and the actions at night seems to be better during a full moon. I have also experienced that during the day time on or near a full moon fishing seems to be poor. I have no clue if my reasoning for this is correct or not but I would guess that during a full moon the fish can see better at night so they might feed more, and during they day time they might not be as interested in eating since they've already had their share of food. I dunno just my rationalization.

In Texas they call the full moon a "Comanche Moon".... that's when they went on raids.

I kept records of my fishing for 2 1/2 years and if the moon made any difference with the peacock bass I can't prove it. I've had great catches.... and no catches on all phases of the moon.

Bluegill usually spawn around the time of the full moon..... same with bonefish.

I've heard that LGMB spawn around full moons as well.
