July 6 Report

Postby Stan Wright » Tue Jul 08, 2008 10:43 am

It was a real pleasure fishing with Forrest, a guide and pro bass angler from Texas. I'd never seen anyone catch a peacock bass on a 6 inch brown Senko rigged Wakky Style before. :o

Next time he wants to show me how to work a jig-n-pig in the tree tops of all those fallen trees for largemouth.

He also suggested a lure I never heard of for catching red devils.... some kind of a crawdad thingie.

Thanks for shairing all you fishing knoledge with me for those few short hours. (Now I know I would NEVER make it as a pro bass angler)

I've fished a lot of wacky rigged senkos on the mainland but I haven't really thought it would be very effective for tucs. Stan, did he catch only one fish on the Senko or multiple? I have a crap load of big senkos and if it's an effective technique I might as well put em to use.

We were only fishing for about 2 hours. He tried it the last few minutes.
