I got a call this morning from Keith Sakaguchi He reported catching.........
Tag # 3912 a Peacock Bass, 2 pounds and 15 inches. He caught it by Boy Scout Island.
I tagged that fish on March 1, 2008 at the Quonset Hut. I listed it a 13 1/2 inches and weighing just a hair over 1 pound.
Do you think I recorded the weight wrong or do peacock bass grow that fast? And if you look at the map, that little guy did some traveling.
Many thanks to Keith for reporting his catch.
If you catch a tagged fish, please record:
Tag Number
Length
Weight, if possable.
Location
Date
peacock/largemouth
I know a lot of us don't carry a scale or measuring tape. (I have marks on my rod to give me an idea of the length)
Just give me a call... 944-8514... the recorder is always on, or email me through the web site. I'll pass the information along to Annette at Aquatic Resources and we'll get back to you about the history or your fish.
Thanks again,
Aloha,
Stan

"Why let the truth stand in the way of a good fish story?"
Aloha Stan, is this Tucanare and Bass tagging project State sponsered? How do I get involved, I'd love to start tagging what I release. Me and a Marine Biologist friend are trying to get a project started tagging the Barracuda of Kaelepulu Pond, may have to go solo on this one though.
