1st Blue gill that I know of on a 1/8 oz. Red/black eyes.

That's a beauty.

I heard that Kauai has a stocking program for bluegill in Sloggett Res...... any idea when it will be opened to the public for fishing?

I wonder why they are called bluegills? :roll: It's not hard to guess if you look at that picture :lol:

Doesn't it look alike a large saltwater damsel fish(kupipi, mamo, etc)??? Thats the first thing that came to my mind when I caught my first bluegill.

I used to catch large hand size Bluegills on the south fork of Lake Wilson, but that was over 15 years ago. Just moved back from Maui so better go check out the grounds.
