wierd looking tucs

Postby Boatless » Tue Apr 08, 2008 9:58 pm

when fishing on saturday up the north fork, we saw something strange. It was a wake coming straight for us. sorta looked like the wake a shark makes coming closer. It was actually a pretty large tuc swimming at the surface only he looked all busted up. There were a few others near boy s. island and even a pair of maybe 3-4 lb ers. Could these be in the condition they were in due to fighting for a mate for the upcoming spawn?

Those are spawners 99% of the time. They get pretty beat up and stressed during the whole deal. Prety soon you will start seeing some that look perfectly healthy/ some busted up that are at the surface dying. The state cannot explain it (big surprise) But after a little research I have found the Sings/symptoms are the exact same as LM bass virus and stressed LM bass are more likely to die from it. There is another form of the virus that effects other fish the same.
