Catch, Release, Catch Again

Mike Sakamoto and I were fishing at Morgans Pt on Sun. using live bait. At 2:00 PM, Mike caught a largemouth bass weighing 1 1/2 pounds. It was 14 1/2 inches long and very healthy. Nice and plump with a fat belly just like the peacock bass.

One hour later I caught the same bass... Tag Number 3916. That's the first fish we've tagged and caught again the same day. We've caught peacock the next day after tagging, but none on the same day they were tagged.

I was fishing at the other end of the boat so the bass hadn't traveled very far in the hour since Mike caught it.
