Idaho Cutthroats

Postby palmettopete » Sat Jan 26, 2008 12:39 am

When I was home recently I went to my favorite mountain lake and caught 'em up! 26 cutthroats total, all were caught on spinners, 19 of which were caught on a panther martin yellow body w/red dots and silver blade. If you ever get the chance there is definately some awsome trout fishing to be done in ID!

The best part of the fishing was when I left my stringer of fish and went to the other side of the lake to try my luck there. When I came back I saw a mink swimming off and 3 of the fish on the stringer had been eatin!

Are we going over to Kauai this year for trout fishing???
Several guys from the bass club went. I think some of the trout unlimited gang are going. Hope the superferry is running by then.

Those are some pretty looking cutties. Looking at them makes me crave furthermore for cutthroat fishing maybe next August. I'm planning a date with some Elk River westslope cutthroats and bull trout.

I remember reading somewhere that they did stock rainbows and browns in the upper reaches of Lake Wilson a long time ago. I guess we all know how that turned out. I think the water is much too warm for browns. Too bad.
