I bought a Thomas & Thomas 9-foot 8-wt from someone that has extra gear and didn't get to use it at all. The rod is in original plastic wraps and I haven't taken it out to try it yet (everything is pretty much frozen here right now

This is a Thomas & Thomas XL2. It is a 9-foot 3-piece 8-weight rod. Each section is 3' long (the butt section is 3' long including the handle and reel seat). It has been discontinued but Thomas & Thomas will continue to honour the lifetime warranty. The warranty card has not been filled in. It has a very nice aluminum rod case as well with cloth rod wraps also.
The rod originally sold for USD $420 online (more at the store in person) before it was discontinued. I'm willing to part with the rod for $250. Shipping and insurance extra.
The only reason I am selling this is that the 3-piece is too long to fit it in my suitcase (I should have measured it before I bought it

So I have a huge dilemma...and the easy solution is to sell this one to buy a 4-piece. I hate the decision since the T&T is much nicer than the TFO Professional (or perhaps TiCr) that I plan to get...but it does allow me to bring my spinning, baitcasting and surf rods with me if I can fit the fly rod in the suitcase.

If there's any interest, let me know. I can take some pictures tonight and post it up.
