Tuesday Bonefishing

Postby Ca_Bass » Tue Sep 25, 2007 10:59 pm

Well today was quite frustrating, caught one bonefish about 3lbs pretty quickly moved into some deeper water and had 3 break my line and one straighten my hook. My buddy caught 2 bones, one about 5lbs and a good size papio. Now I don't know if I should head to the lake or the flats this weekend, my heart is torn!

That is a good dilemma to have, Ca_Bass. During this time of the year, there are usually some many options it is really hard to decide what to do. Sometimes after a fishing session I would think I should done something else. This year, however, the seasonal fish are not around. The fishing stinks. Seems like only the tucs are biting good(thank goodness).

Now why do I think you were dunking and not fly fishing? :)
With the cloud cover all week it's not easy to see fish on the flats. Not to mention the wind. I love those big 8 to 12 pound bones, but I'm going with freshwater.... I love not having to wash the tackle at the end of the day, or going around to the other side of the point to get out of the wind or into the shade. And the peacock bass are biting at the moment.....

If I hadn't forgot to get my boat registration done before it expired I'd be fishng at the lake early tomorrow until sun down, but now that I can't legally go fishing on the lake so I'll probably end up going bonefishing, scratch that just checked the tides for tomorrow and low tide is too early for me! Looks like I'll head down to the DLNR then straight to the Lake! I still haven't got out to try my ultimate tilapia swim baits.

Stan are they still more active later in the day? When I went out last there was steady action until about 11ish then it died till about 4 and picked up again
