Saturday we finished up the fishing part of Fly Fishing merit badge. It was tough fishing... water level was up... water temperature around 84 degrees and lots of wind. Peacock bass in the 1 to 2 pound range would follow and chase and blow up on the flys... hooked a few. Say some red devils, but they wouldn't bite... just follow or ignore the fly... Those little 5 and 6 inch peacock bass saved the day. The book says "catch a fish on the fly rod"... it doesn't say anything about how big. LOL.
If we thought fishing was tough n Saturday... it was worse on Sunday. Only saw 2 red devils all cay and the y ran away. As for the peacock bass... didn't see any. No chases. No follows. No blow ups... NO FISH. Again, the little 5 and 6 inch peacock bass saved the day. Another Fly Fishing merit badge completed.

Re: tough fishing
Does anyone have a theory why the Lake Wilson fishing is so bad when it used to be sometimes great?
