Latest word on Boat Ramp

Postby Stan Wright » Thu Jul 07, 2016 4:14 pm

OK, The word I got today... Thur, July 7th...
We can launch the boats, but we have to park up at the top of the hill. Hope you're good at backing a boat trailer. LOL.

The entire park will be closed from July 18 - 24 to resurface the street entering the park.

So I'm getting a big bucket of live bait and a group of screaming Cub Scouts and I'll see you at Blue Boat Point on Saturday morning.
The more boats, the more action... right?
Aloha,
Stan

Saturday, July 9, the parking lot and boat ramp were open... looks nice.
The Wahiawa State Freshwater Fishing Park is due to close July 10-24 to pave the street leading into the park and the parking by the new renovated bathrooms.
Here are a few shots of the new parking lot down the hill by the boat ramp.

This is the first time I've ever seen a Handicap Parking stall for a boat trailer.
And it's farthest away from the water to boot. So now we have one, or 2, less parking spaces for boat trailers... unless you have a Handicap parking permit for your boat trailer. LOL

This is the island we circled around to back down into the boat ramp...

It's now a smaller island with more car parking spaces.

Thanks Stan,

The pics are great. The parking area looks nice. Can't wait to use it. Our tournament is this Sunday so we'll see how it is. According to Annette, this is a draft of a press release from the DLNR:

The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Division of State Parks will completely close the park entry at Wahiawa Freshwater State Recreation Area, on Walker Avenue, from July 18 and reopen on July 25, 2016. All areas of the park will closed at this time, including the boat ramp.
See you on the Lake

MIKE
