The anykine anglers were out again this morning at out favorite anykine spot, the Ala Wai Canal. The Kaku were biting today with four brought to shore and a number of others that were quick released.
In addition to the Kaku, two tag-able sized papio were caught, the first went 9 1/2 inches and the second one went 10 1/2 inches.

10 1/2 " papio
On both of the tagged papio, a fin clipping from the dorsal fin was taken as part of a DLNR DNA study of papio. The fins were placed in vials and will be mailed to the DLNR office for further evaluation.
