This week has been all fly rods for me. Started out with water
temperatures at 71 to 73 degrees. Tough fisiting, but the smaller
(under 1 pound) peacock bass were active enough to make it a fun day.
Even scattered schooling fish, but they were only on the surface
for 3 or 4 seconds... and usually out of casting range.
On Wed, Timion and I started working the shoreline and it wasn't
long befor he had one about a pound.
Timion is active in his fishing club in Australia, and regularly catches
yellowtail on flyrod in Sidney Harbor. Check out those "fish scale" pants.
I have got to get some of those... Columbia.

Check this out... a 5-Bar General. That little "Fifty-cent Fly"
is hot today.
Over by Kemoo Island we saw a lot of red devils... they were
really spooky, but we still managed to catch a few.
As the water temperature rose to 76 degrees, the peacock
bass and the red devils got a lot more active and aggressive.
Big fish of the day. Timion got this one right against the shore.
Figure 2 3/4 pound. It came charging into the shallows, it's back
clear out of the water. Slammed the fly and the fight was on.
It's exciting to see a fish come speeding in from 5 or 6 feet away
and strike the lure or fly.
Now I ask you, which picture would you like of your fish?

This is the only fly we caught fish on... and I tried a bunch.
The only thing the fish wanted was the Gold, "50-Cent" Fly
with the Pink Eyes.
