murphys day
was like fishing 2 diffrent days.sunny, windless, and hot in the morning.then cloudy with variable wind and muggy in the afternoon.water temp was 75 in the morn and hovered near 80 by afternoon.tucs and red devils all over the banks, bluegill too i think stans right they seem to be making acomeback, havent seen this many since the salvinia. threw swimbaits and a jerkbaits with nary a look all morning. then my trolling motor gears stripped, no footpeddle control! wife was kind enough to drop off a second spare, guess what minn kota and motorguide not compatible! anyways switched to crankbiats and spinnerbiats, fished deeper still no takers.fianlly managed to get 2 largemouth on soft plastictexas rigged worms.till my prop on the second trolling motor fell off into the depths.wasnt murphy a fisherman??? anyways depth finder showed all fish in the 5-10ft range nothing deeper all day and shad balls all over the surface everywhere all day! few busts here and there, spawning tucs still on nests but more just crusising the banks.better luck to the next guys out!
