Going to Hawaii 6/1 to 6/7

Postby SimonC86 » Sat May 02, 2009 9:05 pm

I was wondering if I could just fish off the side of Lake Wilson or is there any other lake close to Waipahu. I'm taking my Fiance to Hawaii to visit my parents for a week. What would I need to go buy. Poles, Tackle, Bait... I'm just looking to fish something small and just spend a nice day out in the beautiful weather of Hawaii. I'm from New York. Any help would be appreciated. I've been on the Party boat that leaves from Waikiki, but I don't want to go fish for gold-fishes anymore :D

Sports Authority sells the most fresh water tackle, IMO. Walmart has some also. Not a great selection by any means. Also, the Mililani Walmart sells fishing licenses, if you wanna be legal. Lake Wilson is about the only freshwater lake on the island. A few other streams, resevoirs, etc., but none close to Waipahu.

Is anybody free during those days and would like to be a guide? Food is on me! Any advice on what supplies to get? Where is the Walmart in Mililani? Is that the one near Village Park and it has a Subways outside? I haven't been to Hawaii for two years and I forgot where everything is already!
