It was kind of cool on the lake. A jacket felt good. Water temperature was 69.8 degrees. A lot colder that I would have likes for peacock bass fishing. The lake is starting to clear up a little. Water is still brown with visibility just a few inches.
We worked the grass lines with all kinds of lures, even trailing live bait behind the boat with no results. When we got to an area of downed trees the action picked up.
The peacock bass were not that aggressive, if you missed that first strike, the fish wouldn't come back for another try........ but we were geting strikes. Mostly on a white Bass Assassin worked slow at the surface in a kind of walk-the-dog retrieve.
The live bait started catching too. Nothing big, pound, to pound and a half size. Fishing is improving.
Osamu and Michiyo with two of their peacock bass.
