THERE IS.....
Smallmouth in the kamooalii stream that Ho'omaluhia Pond is connected to. Tuesday afternoon, Stan showed me a couple places where we he had seen other people fishing. Showed up and saw the stream brimming with life; plecostumos, tilapia, jewel banded ciclids, red devils, and some johanni ciclids(i think thats what they were called). We only caught one, very nice and healthy 12-13in, on some "kiddy" micro light tackle. Saw a couple fingerlings but didn't take my little bait as all the little ciclids were overwhelming them. Stan was throwing some flies, both sinking and some floaters I think. Between Stan and I we caught about 17 - 18 of those jewel banded ciclids, 7 of which we actually kept, can someone say baitfish?

Ahhh...there you guys go. Introducing something else into Wilson. Just joshin' ya. They most likely already exist anyway.
Hey that reminds me....have you guys ever tried your luck in Kahana stream? There is some nice deep pools so I thought there should be some fish in there.?.

used to camp alot at kahana bay and tried many times paddling rubber rafts up and fishing,as well as hiking in and fishing.only caught a few small papio closer to the ocean, never anything deeper in.think its to brackish for bass of any type, but never know, have heard of places in kaui where the bass migrate nearly into the ocean. a friend told me he has caught em nearly in the breakers at a few stream mouths.
