Trailer Registration?

Postby Ca_Bass » Tue Jul 01, 2008 6:34 pm

Do I get my trailer registered at Satellite City Hall, and since I'm military do I need a non-residence form and, what about the safety inspection for the trailer, can I get that done anywhere they do regular vehicle registration or do I have to go to some place else? I already have the boat itself registered. Tks for any help.

You have to weigh the trailer without boat if it has not been registered in Hawaii before. You need safety, and you need a non residence form. I said screw it and didnt register mine.

The trailer has hawaii plates on it now so at least I don't have to get it weighed. Guess I'll pick up the non-res form tmw, I think the saftey is actually still good on the trailer. I'd say screw the registering it too but I live out in Makakilo so I have a higher chance of getting pulled over. tks.

city hall would not give me a license plate since I was from tennessee and they require no tag I had no title for the trailer!!! I paid for the State parking permit in Honolulu. City hall did tell me I had to weigh the trailer empty but it was futile since I couldn't get a title anyway

it is rather a hassel to get it all legal! took mine from the dock straight to weight station in cambell industrial park, boat and all guy was cool looked at the tongue where it clearly said 500lbs and wrote it up no problem, then the whole no title thing yep only bill of sale.went to dnlr got boat legal, not to bad.then to satellite city hall, they sent me to get safety check.went and got blue safety check, back to city hall and then finally got plates.THEN!! back to get blue safety turned into sticker and a pink and yellow saftey!!!!!!!!! and they wonder why so many illegal trailers around.but with my luck id park ass end out at the dock and some bored cop would ticket me hahahaha
