Peacock bass on live bait

The last few weeks we've been experiencing some "cold" water temperatures...... 73 degrees......... Great for largemouth, but the peacock bass fishing has slowed down a lot. One day we'll be catching best using live bait, and the next day lures work best. How do you figure?
I'll be glad when the water temperature gets back up to 79 degrees... I haven seen any Red Devil in months.

Last week those crazy fish were chasing shad again, We mostly see that in the summer. They wouldn't stay on the surface more than 3 or 4 seconds and we never did catch any on lures..... However..... I would ease into the area and trail two small live talipia behind the boat. That produced some nice action with 2 to 3 pound peacock bass, and even a few largemouth.
