About 1,875 gallons of treated effluent spilled into Wahiawa Reservoir on Sunday.
According to the state Department of Health Clean Water Branch, the release was caused by a power flicker that caused the Wahiawa Wastewater Treatment Plant system to shut down.
Warning signs are being posted and the DOH is advising the public to stay out of the reservoir from Lakeview Circle to the Reservoir Spillway.
On May 25, a similar electrical issue resulted in the release of approximately 1,548 gallons of wastewater into Wahiawa Reservoir.
Has this effected the fishing?
