saturday on the lake

Postby BASSTRACKER » Sat Jan 22, 2011 8:15 pm

beautiful day on the lake. awesome weather, still a bit cold but with the sun out was just right, although chilly in the shade.water clarity is really good maybe 2-3ft and water temp was 70 at 7am and got upto 73 by noon.winds were calm but got kinda breezy after noon.pounded the lakw hard with swimbaits all morning hoping for a giant but pulled all water, except for one little 12in dude that felt pretty sure of himself. at least enough to take on a 6 inch swimbait! son managed to get 2 bass on torpedos small of course. then after lunch things improved. found a school of bass on a deep point and caught 8 fish in 30 min. mostly small but a couple mighta made 2lbs.variety of lures but nothing near the bottom ,spinnerbait, crankbait, wacky rigged senko.tried drop shot and jig but the bottom bite wasnt there. pummeled the shoreline for hours looking for them hawgs on the wood cover but to no avail. but there was this awesome spinnerbait bite goin had to be able to see the bait, maybe 1-2ft deep no more no less and they would plow it, little bass but hard hitting, always fun to see your lure go sideways when a bass slams it! great day on the water and about 15fish to boot, saw 3 large tucs sitting on morgans point but when id throw to em they would just scatter, only to come back and tease me,still to cold i guess.
