Tommy called me... said he had some stuff he'd
picked up at Bass Pro and wanted to "test" it out.
We were on the water about 1:30... he tied on a plastic
bait rigged Texas style and started working the edge of
the grass. A brush hog I think he said.
I put a silver fly on my Tenkara rod...
also working the grass along the shore.
Tommy was geting strikes... they were following his lure
right out to the boat... strike after strike. Nothing chased my fly.
He's catching fish and I couldn't buy a strike.
He's even catching red devils on that thing.
I'm changing flys, and he's catching fish. Tommy is
giving me a fishing lesson.
He even tied on a Tiny Torpedo and caught fish.
I finally caught one fish... on my little white Senko.
This 4lb 3oz PB took me over 10 minutes to land on
my little ultra light 4# test rig. It took lots of luck
and a lot of help from Tommy manovering the boat
and finally slipping a dip net under the fish.
A team effort.
