Water level is way up. :D
This is looking back toward the boat ramp.
Water is so high you can tie up your boat
to the railing on the steps.

The "Catch & Release" sign on the bridge today...

That's some big change from a couple of weeks ago....

Met some new guys fishing the lake today... Noland and Westley.
We started visiting and they expressed their --
how do I say this?--- Fishing for Peacock bass is very different than
fishing for largemouth bass back on the Mainland?

The peacock bass were showing a little schooling action
down near the County Yard, so I offered to show
them some of the methods we use.
I had wanted to try using a short leader (about 2 feet)
on the Bubble Rig to see if I could get the fish to
hit the fly, and not the bubble.

It worked. This is Westley with his first ever peacock bass.

We ended up catching a few more smaller fish,
largemouth and peacock.
To be fair, the action was really slow.
Saw some nice ones follow, but wouldn't take.
Tried all kinds of lures, but the Bubble Rig was the top choice.

An exciting time was had by all... good fun, new friends.
I gave them a ride back to the boat ramp...
by the way, Nolan was asking if anyone had a
small electric trolling motor for sale..... :?: :?: :?:

Looks like a good time even with only landing a few. You're quite the fishing ambassador there Stan. (pun intended)
