I just got this e-mail from Brian... anyone know anything about this "new Law"?
Aloha All,
FYI, I went fishing with my friends on Sat. night. Nothing serious....Just hanging out. We went to Lagoon Drive to fish overnight with the real intent to throw some Halalu at the crack of dawn. Don't know if you are aware but there are a lot of people who fish there overnight. (Usually a good portion of the stretch is fill with casting rods and I know that they hook up every once in a while as I have seen Ulua there on a few occasions). Anyway, security came by and told us that there was a new law passed on Jan.1 and that fishing on Lagoon Drive is limited to Daylight hours only. Never heard that one. Maybe C.T. can shed some light on that.
Also, My friends and I hold a #2 test shark tournament a couple times a year at the Hawaii Kai boat ramp. ( you need to catch the largest shark you can on #2 test, and I will say it's pretty hard ). Anyway it's just for kicks with quite a bit of people and the jackpots can get up to $800 or so. It's a kinda well known event with Mike Sakamoto coming down just to check it out. Anyway me friend told me that he was there this weekend to catch bait and the police told him to leave as it was closed to fishing. When did that happen???? C.T. any ideas?????
